The USCOREIT team were starting from scratch with only a written brief and an excel spreadsheet to demostrate their idea for this exciting new football competition website.
Based outside of Canterbury, the founders were keen to work with a local company but were struggling to identify a development partner with enough enthusiasm and a pro-active attitude to help get their website ready for the Euro 2012 football tournament.
Developed specifically for the USCOREIT project, we created the bespoke competition mechanism based on the specific brief received from the USCOREIT team.
Site visitors are able to sign up for an account and login to predict the 90 minute scores of each game, up to 60 minutes before kick off. At the point of kick off, the database of predictions is automatically emailed to a third party for security.
Once a match has been played, the site owners update results via a secure area of the site and an automatic script runs to calculate the latest points allocation, updating leaderboards and mini leagues (user created leaderboards).
USCOREIT (pronounced You Score It) is a new an online football score prediction competition developed to coincide with the UEFA European Football tournament being held in Poland and Ukraine in June 2012. The business is intended to be fun, with a key feature being a significant portion of subscription monies being directed to charity.
Customers will pay £10 to enter the competition and then predict the scores and other outcomes of the 32 games to be played in the tournament up to and including the final on 1 July 2012. Points are allocated based on the accuracy of each customer’s predictions. The person with the most points at the end of the tournament is the winner.
